For the families of Saurashtra Baj Khedaval Brahmin
Gyati in India and abroad
FAQs
: Frequently Asked Questions: Your
Questions, Our Answers:
·
Why have you started this group?
Internet is fast becoming a part of our life. It is an easily accessible and
reasonably economical means of communication. Groups are gaining popularity
because they help people with common interest to interact rapidly and without
much hassle. Our Gyati-bandhus are settled all over the world and a number of
Gyati-Mandals are working tirelessly at their local or regional levels. Now all
of these Gyati-bandhus can communicate with one another and exchange news and
views through this Group. Likewise all the Mandals can spread messages and news
faster and also co-ordinate their activities throughout the world, conveniently
through this Group.
·
What are the fees or charges for the membership?
No fees, no charges! No hidden charges! This is not a commercial group.
Membership is absolutely FREE!
·
Who can join the Group and become a member?
Right now, the membership is open to all the members of families of Saurashtra
Baj Khedaval Brahmin Gyati and the descendants of these families across the
world. If you have blood-relation with a member of the Gyati, you will be
admitted as a member of the Group.
·
Can any brahmin of other caste join the group?
Sorry. No. Right now we cannot entertain the idea. A group is meant for a
category of people or for specific community. If it is a smaller one, than it
can be managed well and can serve the purposes and interests of the particular
community. Once a group is managed well, it could be expanded at a later stage.
·

·
Who started this group? Would you introduce yourself?
The Yahoo Groups require an OWNER (who starts the group) and MODERATOR (who
manages the activities) to start a group. It is expected that they reveal true
identity. We have already disclosed our true identity at the web-page of the
Group. This is to enhance the confidence of the Gyati-bandhus so that more members can join
without hesitation. I am Harish Shantilal Dave, Ahmedabad. My son and I worked hard
for days together to start this Group so that our Gyati can march into an e-age.
Whoever starts the Group, it survives only with work of other members. Shri
Rajendrabhai Mehta (Ahmedabad), Shri Maheshbhai Mehta (Mumbai) and many other
members have been working hard to promote the Group! Read the messages at the
Group page and you will understand that!
·
Do I need to reveal my true identity?
Yes. The moderator has to ensure that only the right persons join the Group. The
moderator needs to be convinced that you meet the criteria of the membership.
Your membership may be confirmed and continued only if your identity is
verifiable.
·
Can you keep my identity secret from other members?
In case you have some reasons to hide your identity, secrecy may be maintained
if you make a specific request to the moderator.
·
How is my privacy ensured at the Yahoo Groups?
Please read the Help at the Yahoo Groups.
·
How many in our Caste know the use of computers?
How long shall we lag behind helplessly? Let us make all of them
computer-literate. Look at other castes! The number of computer-users is
increasing.
·
How many of us can use the Internet?
Time is ripe to reverse the situation! Scores of our children are settling
abroad. If we want to remain a well-knit family, Internet is a must. If we want
to keep abreast with the world, Internet is a must.
·
I am 35. I completed graduation nearly 14 years back! How
can I use Internet?
You are pretty young! I started learning computer around the age of 40! I was
the oldest student at the computer class! My son used to take me to cyber cafes
and taught me the use of Internet recently. Today, at the age of 52 years, if I
can launch my own websites and publish my own Blogs on the Internet, why can’t
you do? Would you believe that a highly intellectual person in our Gyati,
Shri Himmatbhai Dave, surfs
the Internet at the age of 75? Probably he is the senior-most person in the
Gyati, who uses this technology routinely! Hats off to him!
